About USTACRA
USTACRA was founded by Premier 2 gun shooter & competitor David Howlett, as he says it:
It all started in the Pacific Northwest. Over the last 9 years I spent my time designing and running Tactical Rifle matches here at our home club, Custer Sportsmen's Club in Custer Wa. I developed the best ways of designing and building shooting stage's that test the operators' ability to shoot fast and accurately, while requiring a blend of indexing, transition's, and footwork. Fully testing the shooter's ability to think, shoot, and react within a complex array of shooting zones.
I learned that quality matches have an unique by-product of training a shooter to find their weaknesses and improve them.
I like to compare close quarters combat/battle (CQC/CQB) to playing hockey. You can't play Hockey at a high level until you first learn how to skate really well.
It is the same with high level tactical shooting, you can't be a good tactical shooter or operator until you're a good technical shooter.
The reality of this is, to become the best tactical shooter you can be, you must first become the best technical shooter you can be!
In the real world whether civilian, Law Enforcement or military, your life and the lives of those around you depends on your ability to think, react, and execute with surgical precision and timing.
Here at USTACRA we pride ourselves with the highest level of discipline in our training and in designing our shooting matches to bring out the best in the operators that compete.
"Don't let your mind out shoot your body, don't let your body out shoot your mind, be in the moment."
